@Nikolai_Kingsley I've seen this once 2 years ago and been applying it to everything I'm able. Ever since then the discord servers I'm in have been much more enjoyable to hang around with
It hits the nail real good

Depends on what was the nazi shit, just an iron cross?

@Nikolai_Kingsley wow. good for that bartender. yeah, you don't want to let your guard down and let them slowly infiltrate. Like don the con "good people on both sides"... no. They are NOT good people.

@Nikolai_Kingsley I agree with this. Sometimes you have to kick semi-bad people out to prevent their worse friends from slowly gaining control of a space.

(thread missing CW) Terran horribleness, fascism, antifa

@LunaDragofelis @Nikolai_Kingsley .m It's not even semi-bad people. It's straight fascists acting nice to try to get your guard down.

re: (thread missing CW) Terran horribleness, fascism, antifa

@Nikolai_Kingsley I was like "who could object to this?" and then I read the replies here. Sheesh. Some people.

One of my favorite bars closed a few years ago because of not doing exactly this. They only realized they'd lost complete control to the skinheads when they tried to lynch a black costumer.

@Nikolai_Kingsley Thanks needed that. Have a fascist ideology supporter which recently entered a group I am in. People are engaging him. So he brought another friend along. This perfectly captures the situation. So now have shared it. If they understand they will kick them out or I have to leave.

> So he brought another friend along.

bring two friends. and just glare at them a lot.

Someone always tries to argue against it, and in their defense it's usually someone who has never had to experience the inevitable outcome of being accommodating to people who have no intention of doing the same. They think that kindness begets kindness, when it definitely does not.

Or they're a nazi and just arguing in bad faith - "i'm a paying customer!"

@ubiety @Nikolai_Kingsley One of the points of being your own boss is that you can pick who you work for, why you do so, and how you handle the job.

I have people trying to contract me for shady business every other day. My answer is no, but I document the encounter, what they wanted, how and why and for how much.

Were I in the place of the bartender, I would have asked for the ID of the guy, written it down, and showed him the door. This probably is what earned me my nickname of Archivist

@Nikolai_Kingsley just waiting to absolutely tear into the first person to chime in with “i MaY nOt AgReE wItH tHeIr ViEwS...”

@Nikolai_Kingsley this is how echo chambers are formed. Reading this post has got me wondering if echo chambers are just a virtual manifestations of real-world differences that cannot be resolved peacefully. If so, methinks we are all sitting on power kegs.
