None of them are docker swarm. What I'd like to do is have 3 public IPs for 3 VMs that are running Caddy, in front of a bunch of different internal VMs that are all running Docker swarm containers. So I can load balance across VMs (I have 3 IPs, but 4 hosts that can run VMs/containers). But I am afraid of PeerTube’s consumption when it comes to bandwidth. As in: if I upload a video that for some reason becomes really popular, or if a bad actor decides to DDOS my channel, would that take down all my other self-hosted Fediverse instances? Since they are on the same VPS?</p><p>I could limit potential issues by having a dedicated VPS just for PeerTube.</p><p>What would you do?</p><p>And do you have recommendations for Europe-based VPS’s with affordable plans? Alejandro<p>Since using Proxmox seemed totally overkill for just using a virtualized Windows10, I reached out to Quemu &amp; VirtManager. It has not been the easiest task in the world, almost two hours to understand the cryptic error messages and solve them. My <em>production selfhosting</em> is a bit more 'hardmode', *BSD only.</p><p>Also, you might take note of <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://aseachange.com/@elena" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>elena</span></a></span> - whom are writing about their <a href="https://exquisite.social/tags/selfhosting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosting</span></a> experiences.</p>

gmc<p>Having lots of fun using Delta Chat. I've set up two accounts on my mail server, one for myself and one for my husband. We're both surprised at how fast it is compared to more traditional centralised chat apps like Signal. Elias Mårtenson<p>Good self-hosted streaming device suggestions?</p><p>For the last few years, I've had a Chromecast connected to my TV, because it's a convenient way to stream Youtube as well as Jellyfin.</p><p>For the last 2 days, Chromecast has been down globally, and Google is of course not saying anything. Will it ever come back? Who knows! It's not like the users are actually customers or anything.</p><p>I've already moved a lot of my stuff off centralised services, but I have to admit that I never really thought much of the Chromecast, it just worked. But, perhaps I should thank Google for showing me why centrally managed services are a really, really bad idea.</p><p>So, what should I replace this with? The two things I need to be able to stream is, as mentioned above, Youtube and Jellyfin.
